Road work on the exercycle trims the hips and legs of Joan Roberts rising young Hollywood actress.Joan Roberts (born July 15, 1918) is an American actress, born in New York City, New York, who created the role of Laurey in the original Broadway production of Oklahoma! in 1943. Along with Celeste Holm, she is one of the few surviving cast members of the original Oklahoma! production. She initially auditioned for the role of Ado Annie (which eventually went to Holm), but the show's librettist Oscar Hammerstein cast her as the female lead. Roberts subsequently took on the starring role of Sara Longstreet in the Broadway musical High Button Shoes. Roberts was in retirement for many years on Long Island, New York, when she accepted the role of Heidi Schiller in the 2001 Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's Follies. (Wikipedia)
