Mayor Earl Riley and officials of the Portland, Seattle and Tacoma Chambers of Commerce worked in their shirt-sleeves Sunday to prepare a brief demanding that the Civil Aeronautics board approve direct air service from the Pacific northwest to the Hawaiian islands.
