But in the campaign rush, it was a congratulatory telegram Gerald Ford sent Edith Green Saturday evening when the LaSalle Friars Club roasted and toasted her. Ford and Mrs. Green worked together 20 years in Congress. "A woman's place is in the House and Senate," quipped Rob Bristol at the Portland Golf Club dinner dance.
