First Over the North Pole Passenger Air Service Opens.
First Over the North Pole Passenger Air Service started yesterday when two giant pioneer planes set out to link Europe and America by this new route. Plane number one left Los Angeles at 8.22 a.m. yesterday with forty passengers aboard, including mayors of Canadian and US towns, for Copenhagen and arrived there early today. Plane number two took off from Copenhagen for Los Angeles at 7.10 p.m. yesterday with 33 passengers aboard, including Prince Axel of Denmark and the Prime Ministers of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and is due in Los Angeles tonight.
