Princeton, New Jersey; Sir Arthur Lewis, A native of the west Indies and a British Subject, became the first black to receive a Nobel Prize in a Category other than peace today when he was jointly awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science with Theodore W. Schultz, 77, of : The University of Chicago Sir Arthur, 64, teaches economic at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International affairs at Princeton.
