U nu the Prime Minister of Burma and many of his ministers - led a widespread campaign throughout the country for prayers and recitation of the Buddhist scriptures to pray for rain to end the threatened heat-wave - drought and water famine.. The prayers were offered by Buddhist Monks - Ministers and people in all pagodas throughout the country - and the prayers were immediately rewarded with torrential rains on the city of Rangoon..
