1965 Press Photo Firefighter cliff rescue Daniel Polock

Description
Caption: IT'S A LONG WAY DOWN Unshaken by a close brush with tragedy, 11-year-old Daniel Pollock, of North Adams, Mass., clings to a small tree after becoming trapped halfway down a 175-foot cliff. Firefighters Elmer Potter and William Garner couldn't understand how the boy got that far on the slippery rock but they reached him with rope and lowered him 75 feet to the ground.
