Caption: Kenneth Jean, Detroit Symphony resident conductor since 1978, will leave the orchestra in August to pursue other conducting opportunities. Jean, 33, was recently signed by Columbia Artists Management Inc., the country's most prestigious classical music management firm. He'll also keep his position as principal guest conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and is slated to conduct the Detroit Symphony in three subscripition concerts and two chamber concerts next season.
