Caption: Edward Heinemann at the Weston Hotel, Detroit, for a Detroit Science Center party. Heinemann designed and developed airplanes for most of his career. He was responsible for the design and development of more than 20 military aircraft and holds the patents to several of them. He also developed many aircraft components and weapons including ejector seats, auto pilots, streamlined bombs, flight data computers, and atomic bomb cases.
