Description
Caption: Smoke from a burning tank turns day into night for a nearby neighborhood. The Clark Oil Co. storage tank in Taylor, Michigan exploded which started a fire. Officials blamed the accident on mechanical failure inside a gasoline-filled tank on the site on Beech-Daly near Ecorse Road. There were no serious injuries although a Clark official on duty after the explosion suffered an apparent heart attack and was hospitalized. 5,000 area residents were evacuated.
