Caption: A three-alarm fire that started in rubbish or old lumber caused the evacuation of about 200 workers Thursday at the Shatterproof Glass Corp, 4815 Cabot on Detroit, Michigan's west side. No one was hrut. Deputy Fire Chief John Fusting said about 60 fire fighters and 13 pieces of equipment battled the blaze for about an hour before getting it under control. The aron unit is investigating the cause of the fire, which spread from rubbish and lumber over an oil-coated gravel drive to a back wall of the glass manufacturing plant, damaging the wall and part of the roof and breaking windows.
