Inherit the Wind, the classic American drama based on the famous Scopes "monkey trial," has been selected as the premiere production of AT&T Presents. The new two-hour presentation will be telecast on NBC-TV, with Kirk Douglas as Matthew Harrison Brady and Jason Robards as Henry Drummond. The drama has a rich history of attracting outstanding actors to portray the roles inspired by the actual protagonists (Top, left to right) Clarence Darrow (defense lawyer) and William Jennings Bryan (three-time unsuccessful candidate for the Presidency and prosecutor at the trial). Paul Muni (Drummond) and Ed Begley (Brady) starred in the 1955 Broadway play.
