Description
World's largest irrigation canal completed Nov 1st. ending forever threats of appalling summer droughts in the Imperial Valley and equally disastrous Colorado River floods. By spring of 1939 water will be flowing in the 30-million dollar All-American Canal, making 500,000 acres of land available for cultivation. Excavation in soft desert sand was accomplished with walking draglines as pictured in foreground.
