The Duck as he's affectionately called by NBC New Assignment Editor Andy Franklin decided to travel to the Republican Convention because according to Franklin, He is a true friend who cheers us all up; a familiar face in strange town, a comforting element of continuity for the entire NBC News Political press corps.
