Press Photo Stunt Driver Jimmy Lynch Junior in Spectacular Crash of Fire

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
A tough way to make a living is to be an automobile stunt driver. Here is a sample of the struggle to earn the pay check. In the flying car--its wheels and bumper can be seen breaking through the fire and wooden framework-- is Jimmy Lynch, Junior, whose father's troupe played the Wisconsin state fair this year. The picture was made there by Journal Photographer Howard Sochurek, who set up behind pads and asbestos protectors in order to get this fast action.

Photo measures 10.25 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 09-14-None.
