The latest arrival at the Whipsnade Zoo is Frances â daughter of Jacko and Jennie â pigmy donkeys from Ceylon â and is just three weeks old. The Zoo Superintendent chose Jacko and Jennie, as they were the smallest donkeys available and is Frances develops according to form she will be a tiny tot all her life. Her parents are about the size of a Newfoundland dog. Pigmy donkeys are used as beasts of burden in many parts of Asia and have a reputation of being strong and very spirited.
