American Policemen Learn To Handle Dogs.. Will Take Them-Back To States To Combat Crime. Five policemen from the United States - all senior officers representing New York and other bif cities are now in this country - to learn about handling dogs in their battle against crime.. So far in the United States the police use an effective radio control system - machine guns- tear gas etc.. - but seldom - if ever are dogs used.. The policemen visited the police kennels at West Wickham to see how the dogs are trained. Keystone Photo Shows:- Sgt. Thomas Dickson of Plumpstead "R" Division - puts "Polo" through his paces - watched by the five American policemen - and their charges - at the School.. The dogs held by the Americans are untrained - and are starting from "scratch".
