Description
Baby Crocodile Arrives By Air: Travelling in an old petrol tin, reinforced with wood and wire, a newly-hatchec Nile crocodile has arrived at the Zoo by air from West Africa. Although measuring only nine inches, it snapped at the keeper's fingers as the took it out of its "travelling-crate". The baby, which had been found on a West African river bank, probably in the spot where it had been hatched out by the heat of the sun, has been named Peter. The arrival of Peter brings the number of Zoo crocodiles up to seven. The others are all several feet long. Photo shows Peter, the two months old baby Crocodile being kept in two by his new friend at the Zoo.

Photo measures 8.25 x 6 inches.

Photo is dated 9--1945.
