Description
All Bells of the world are ringing at Duisburg.: Two Diusburgers have built a very complicated magneto phone set helping so their home town to en attraction which no other town of the world has to offer. They set up their set on the ''Sonnenwall'' in the watch-store Weiler and from now the Diusburgers will hear the most famous bells from all over the world, during the Christmas weeks without any interval: the bells from Flanders, those of the Westminster Abbey in London of the Trinity Church in New York, the bells of Notre-Dame at Paris, of the Great Michael from Hamburg, bells from Lourdes, from Kopenhagen and many, many other towns of the world. Jn between the most beautiful of all Christmas carols will be heared. The most difficult thing, however, was to supply for the chimes and there was a very long correspondence over the German Foreign Office and the German representations aboard. But all the work paid for for Mr. Weiler and Mr. Oehler have now an archive of chimes not even in the possession of the broadcasting-stations. The North-West German Broadcasting Corporation and the German South West Radio Baden Baden have already come to take a loan. All together 75 bell ringings can be heard on Christmas Eve and the magnetophone if strectched would cover the distance from Diusburg to Leverkusen.
