Description
Birmingham firefighters battled a Monday afternoon blaze that destroyed a Red Cross blood collection bus and damaged a mobile van parked in front of the Red Cross building at 2225 Third Avenue North. Morris Middleton, director of public relations, said the fire, believed to have started in a generator under the bus, destroyed the bus, valued at $90,000 mobile lab. The fire will cost the Red Cross more than money, however.
