Captain Jimmy Madison of the Minor Heights Fire District stands on the fender of the district's new rescue truck, recently bought and dedicated in memory of the late Allan W. Sandlin, a firefighter for the Birmingham Fire Department who was killed in a traffic accident about two months ago. Madison said Sandlin was instrumental in getting Emergency Medical Service, EMS, started at Minor Heights and worked hard to raise money for equipment for the district.
