Description
What's an international port of entry? These visitors to Huntsville-Madison County Jetplex are finding out at a display set up to mark the opening of a U.S. Customs office there. With Customs agents now on duty, shipments of parts and manufactured goods can be handled here, instead of via transshipment from another port, such as Atlanta. This is mainly of benefit to northern Alabama firms, but can also benefit travelers on overseas charter flights. The man in the dark suit is Harris Steward, director of the Huntsville Customs office. (Huntsville, Alabama) (Customs Offices)
