Description
Protesters carrying placards denouncing a decision to kill deer in River Hills appeared at Village Hall before trustees met Friday morning. D'Arcy Kemnitz, of Green Bay, said most protesters belonged to Wisconsin Animal Education Network or Northeastern Wisconsin Voice for Animals, a group that sponsored disruptions of deer hunting last year. Village President Carl Weigall welcomed the protesters but said trustees would not reconsider their decision, which calls for shooting and trapping deer to reduce the 250-deer herd and donating the meat to food pantries.
