1986 Press Photo View of Kilbourn Avenue at the Circus Parade Moves West

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
The Great Circus Parade ended a 12-year absence in spectacular fashion when it returned to Milwaukee in 1985. The Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales (above) reminded everyone of the Miller Brewing Co.'s principal competition. When the parade headed west on W. Kilbourn Ave. (left), the largest crowds of the day got a wide view of the action. A high-wheel cyclist (Lower left) re-creates the 1890s. One of the Circus World Museum's ornate wagons (below) rolled past City Hall.

Photo measures 7.25 x 10 inches. Photo is dated 07-07-1986.
