Description
Phyllis Lardinois at Whittier School. Cyclist a champion for multiple sclerosis. Phyllis Lardinois knows a lot about cycling and Multiple Sclerosis, and she's getting pretty smart about fund-raising, too. Those things all came together with the news that Lardinois, a counselor at Whittier Elementary School in Waukesha, will join the national "Tour of Champions," a 50-mile ride for cyclists who raised more than $3,000 in local Multiple Sclerosis events. Lardinois raised $3,369 for a cycling tour despite missing the event herself. Her mother, Frances, died two days before the tour in August. Lardinois sent letters to her sponsors, explaining the situation and asking whether they still wished to contribute. Virtually everyone did.

Photo measures 6.75 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 04-27-1989.
