Huge Japanese Buddha develops cracks. Repairs to a national treasure near Tokyo.: The great Daibutsu of Kapakura, near Tokyo cast in 1252 has developed a number of alarming cracks. Now five expert engineers are to work inside the great construction filling the cracks with a special compound in order to prolong its existence. The huge Daibutsu represents the Lord of Boundless Light and is said to be one of the great treasure of Japan.
