1963 MANAGER OF THE YEAR -- Johnny Keane, 51-year-old skipper of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball club, has been named manager of the year in an Associated Press poll of sports writers and sportscasters. Keane piloted the club to a second place finish in the National League -- once, on September 15, closing the gap behind the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers to one game.
