Pride of Costa Rica is its Teatro Nacional, or National Theater, located in the heart of San Jose, the country's fascinating capital. The facade of this architectural gem is an example of clasical Renaissance style, and it's baroque interior is reminiscent of the revered European opera houses of the 1800s. Construction of this cultural treasure began in 1870.
