1974 Press Photo Chevron Washington a FMC Marine and Rail Equipment shipways

The hull of the $19 million Chevron Washington, under construction at FMC Marine and Rail Equipment Division's shipways on NW Front Avenue was about one-third completed this week. It will be launched January, 1975, said FMC president Bruce Ward. Its sister ship, the Chevron Oregon, was launched last month and is at Swan Island where crews are outfitting her. The two tankers are part of a six-ship, $105 million contract.
