Description

Salem resident Mike Bell received the Portland Fire Bureau's Medal of Honor award Thursday. On Feb.3, Bell rescued Amanda Pascoe, 3, who was trapped in a burning home. Bell was repairing the roof of the home when the fire stated. Using his shirt as a shield, Bell ran into the smoke and found the child by listening to her cries for help.
