PICKETS PARADE AT LEFT AS MASS MEETING IS HELD BY THE UNITED FINANCIAL EMPLOYEES (AFL) OUTSIDE THE REAR ENTRANCE OF THE NEW YORK COTTON EXCHANGE LARGEST IN THE WORLD. THE EXCHANGE WAS SHUT DOWN WHEN THE STRIKE PULLED OUT ALL CLERKS ON THE FLOOR. SYMPATHY STRIKES SHUT DOWN THE POWER PLANT OF THE 23 STORY BUILDING AND THE BARBERSHOP AS WELL. WALKOUT WAS STAGED TO ENFORCE DEMANDS FOR A 30 PERCENT WAGE INCREASE AND OTHER BENEFITS. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 03-04-1947.
