VIOLINIST ANDREW POLLINGER (LEFT), 20, SERENADES HIS FIANCEE, MISS ANNA LIESE STRAUB (RIGHT) AS THEY ARRIVE IN NEW YORK ABOARD THE ERNIE PYLE AUGUST 20. POLLINGER LEFT BUFFALO, NY IN 1938 TO STUDY MUSIC IN GERMANY AND WAS CAUGHT THERE BY THE WAR. MISS STRAUB IS FROM ASTORIA, L.I. AND WAS VISITING RELATIVES IN GERMANY WHEN THE WAR STARTED. THE COUPLE MET IN A DISPLACEMENT CAMP WHEN HOSTILITIES CEASED. Photo measures 7 x 9 inches. Photo is dated 08-20-1947.
