Description

Young farmers, whose summer was spent in growing vegetables in butter tubs on the roof of the Children's Aid Society's West Side Center, participate in the husking bee that highlights the Society's Annual Harvest Festival. Although their corn crop was ruined by successive spells of dry and wet weather, the little farmers enjoyed a husking bee when the Society sent and SOS for corn to its farm in New Hamburg, N.Y. Left to right: Leon Agaronian; Patrick Murphy; John Damaniano; Ann Wilkins; and Elaine Hoberman. Photo measures 9.25 x 7 inches. Photo is dated 09-19-1946.
