Paul Griffith (left) National Commander of the American Legion for 1946-47, raises the hand of James E O'Neil in victory after he was unanimously elected to the post for 1947-48 at the final business meeting of the 29th annual convention, held in the 71st Regiment Armory. With them are the new Commander's wife, and his son, Russell, 17 (right). O'Neil, 49, is Police Chief of Manchester, NH. Photo measures 9.25 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 08-31-1947.
