Thermite pencil action as shown by Capt. F.T. Baughman of the F.B.I. from the Washington Ballistic Laboratory. Capt. Baughman is putting acid on the broken part of a thermite pencil to speed up action for demonstration. When ignited the pencil burns with a very intense blue flame and one of these small pencils can cause millions of dollars of damage if it is not discovered in time.
