Description
Face lift plus - A $2.5 million restoration is under way to reclaim the 124-year-old Matthew Keenan house at 775-781 North Jefferson Street. The former two-family mansion was gutted by fire in February 1984. It once housed Madame. Kuony's restaurant and school. The building's owner, architect Jordan Miller said the four-story structure would be turned into an office and retail building, but the front would remain intact. Inside the first floor, general contractor Hilbert Ermer examined a piece of charred molding, which will be used to make casts from which copies can be manufactured. (Milwaukee - historic buildings)
