Description
The Boy who was too small for games: Tiny Tim Mahon was too small for games at school. But he dreamed of becoming a top jockey and told his classmates of it. But only one person took Tim seriously that was the school sportsmaster Stan Longbottom who wrote to the Queen's trainer Noel Murless. Murless was so impressed that he decided o engage tiny Tim as a trial apprentice when he leaves school this coming Easter. Said 14 year old Tim when he heard the news in Wakefield Road, Bradford, Yorkshire: "I can't believe it. I have only been on a horse once in my life but I'm sure that I can be a good jockey." Photo shows Tiny Tim jumping for joy after hearing the good news.

Photo measures 8.25 x 10.25 inches.

Photo is dated 11-16-1963.
