Description
The tragic battle for control of little Christine Goddard - comes to a close.: There were tragic scenes as the battle for that love and control of 6-year-old Christine Goddard came to a close at the home of the child's grandparents at Westhoughton, Lancashire. It was the end of a story which began when Christine was 5-months-old. Her parents had parted, and her father, Mr. Donald Godard, took the child to the home of his parents at Westhoughton, where his father William Goddard and his wife Agnes have cared for their granddaughter ever since. Then, last month, Christine's 26-year-old real mother, Mrs. Joselyn Goddard, was granted a High Court order from her home in Actor, London, to collect Christine from the care of her grandparents. There were tears and angry words as Joselyne Goddard prepares to leave with Christine. The child's grandparents pleaded with her to let the child stay with them - bu to no avail. Photo shows heartbreak for Mr. William Goddard, the child's grandfather , as little Christine is carried away by her mother.
