TRAFALGAR SQUARE CHRISTMAS TREE CEREMANY The traditional lighting-up ceremony of the 34th Norwegian Christmas Tree to be arected in Trefalgar Square took place last night. The tree, which is 70ft hig, and decorated with 630 lights, was switched on by Mr Albert Nordengen, the Lord Mayor of Oslo. The tree has been given to Westminster each year since 1947 by the people of Oslo, as an expression of good will and gratitude for Britain's help to Norway during the 1939-45 war. PHOTO SHOWS: The Trafalgar Square tree light-up after the switch-on last night.
