Caption: G. Alden Smith's "Benevolence," in front of the Sentinel Center on East Jefferson, Depicts a widow and two orphans. The Sentinel Center, E. Jefferson at Chene, has been named Great Lakes Regional winner of the National White Cement Architectural Awards program, sponsored annually by the Portland Cement Association. Detroit designer John Stevens Associates employed precast white cement wall panels with gray solar glass for the combination office-convention center.
