Caption: Arnette R. Hubbard of Chicago, the President-Elect of the National Bar Association, will be installed as the association?s first woman president. The association is the nation?s largest organization for black attorneys. A convention will be held at the Detroit Plaza, where about 1,200 are estimated to attend; the association has 8,000 members nationwide. Hubbard states the association has sponsored anti-Ku Klux Klan legislation in several states and hopes to have similar measure introduced in Congress. The organization also opposes efforts by the Reagan administration to reduce spending for social programs.
