Caption: Rogers Hornsby leaves hospital today after having a cataract removed from his right eye. A contact lens eventually will correct sight to near-normal. The great righthand hitter of baseball?s Twenties and Thirties continued his up and down manager career coincident with being released from the hospital ? he was signed as a coach by the Chicago Cubs, a club he once managed to a pennant, then was fired.
