Caption: IN THE GALAPAGOS. A photograph made of the bird life on one of the Galapagos Islands, visited by William A. Robinson, prominent sportsman, prior to his attack of appendicitis, which enlisted the aid of naval ships and planes. A destroyer awaited at the islands May 25 for a surgeon's order to start a 970-mile race from Balboa with Robinson, fighting for his life after an emergency operation. He had ben on an extended cruise with his wife, on their yacht SVAAP. These are Piquero birds.
