It's Easy, Says Mathematical WizardBY HARVEY TAYLORFree Press Staff Writer"Mahch with vigah, Leathernecks!"President Kennedy's ringing challenge to United States Marine Corps officers and noncoms to match President Theodore Roosevelt's directive of 1908 that all Marine officers should periodically march 50 miles in 20 hours to prove their fitness to lead men has been more than met.MARINES ACROSS the country have clipped from two to seven hours off Teddy's requirements and now President Kennedy's corpulent press secretary, Pierre Salinger, is getting into the act.He's scheduled a marching test for White House aides and newspapermen in Washington Friday.To check on what our Marines are doing about it, we temporarily joined the 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, Fleet Marine Force, USMCR, who were practicing squad tactics Saturday morning in Lower Huron Park.
