1944 Press Photo Capt Ollie Cordill to become ferrying pilot after back injury

Capt Ollie Cordill (above) former Rice Institute football star won the air medal and oak leaf cluster on bombing missions against the Axis oonly to suffer a back injury when a stalled engine on a bomber caused a crackup in June, 1943. Declining a medical discharge, Ollie is preparing at Love Field, Dallas, to take to the air as a ferrying pilot.
