A house that keeps on growing!: When Mr. Kanawa, 58 years old, got married 30 years ago he had dreams of owing a large house and so full of determination he saved 10% of his monthly salary, he is an employee of Japan Telegraph and Telephone Company, and extended his house from a size of 66 sq.m. Doing all the work himself this took over one year. Not content with this hes started to build a new dining room and kitchen, 99 sq.m., which were elevated from the ground and then in the space below he commenced work on a basement, which when completed this year will have 8 rooms and an area of 165 sq.m. A vast home by Japanese standards: Photo shows a general view of the house, on the left is the main building and on the right the dining room and kitchen and also the basement which is in the process of construction.
