Description
Caption: Washington, Jan. 13 - This Byrd Dog Is A Spaniel - Sen. Harry F. Byrd, D-Va., poses with Pam, a honey-colored Cocker Spaniel and the latest in a long line of dogs he has kept as companions in his Capitol office. Byrd recalls that as Governor of Virginia he had a black and white Fox Terrier but during most of his 30 years in the Senate he had Cocker Spaniels - Nicotine, Inky, Happy, Candy, and now Pam. Candy, about 12 years old, is ailing now and is kept at the senator's estate, Rosemont, near Berryville, Va.
